--It is a proud moment to be Inaugurating Indian Technology Congress 2018.
--Karnataka is a leader in technology-driven industries. Bengaluru has transformed from being the capital of software and outsourcing activities to heralding the era of Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, Machine Intelligence, Robotics, Internet of Things, Blockchain, Drone Technologies etc.
--Bengaluru has the ability to drive the digital transformation, as the city is home to over a million highly-skilled professionals. As new technologies emerge, together with research and product development, we in the Government are laying emphasis on training and capacity building in the emerging technologies.
--ITC 2018 is an annual event of Indian Technology Congress Association which consists of professionals from the industry, R&D Laboratories, Government and Academic Institutions and professional Organizations.
--I am privileged to say that Karnataka has prevalent contribution to engineering and technology as being home to many Research and Technology institutions and enterprises.
--Karnataka has also contributed much to international knowledge and nation’s economy. The excellent quality of our workforce has been endorsed by major global players.
--In order to sustain our competitive edge in terms of workforce and to ensure that adequate number of highly-skilled professionals in the emerging technologies are available, Centers of Excellence have been set up by the State Government for various technical fields.
--Government of Karnataka has designed policies and schemes in alignment with the grand vision for Karnataka as a global technology leader and a pioneer in driving inclusive growth.
--I am pleased to learn that ITC (Indian Technology Congress) has emerged as a leading forum that works on deploying technology- intensive solutions for contemporary challenges.
--ITC 2018 enables the technology practitioners to experience the ‘passion of Technology’ to deliver solutions for challenging problems faced by society.
--I am delighted to know that ITC 2018 conducting seminars to give equal opportunity for students, faculty members and Institutions to interact with International Experts on Student-Centric-Satellite Developments.
--It has also identified international collaboration to shape our Students Satellites Programmes.
--I am glad that ITC 2018 is emphasizing on Digital Farming by organizing a parallel conference for adoption of technology in Indian Agriculture sector. Smart machines and connected machines in Agriculture.
--Digital Farming ensures targeted and timely information is delivered to farmers based on their needs which will eventually help in adopting systematic and scientific farming.
--I would like to add that State Government has recently set up an Agro-Innovation Centre, in association with Centre for Cellular and Molecular Platforms (C-CAMP), a Government of India organization, in order to encourage and nurture promising innovations in the Agriculture sector.
--Government also organizes an annual event, viz., Bengaluru Tech Summit, which provides a platform for new and emerging technologies to be demonstrated, discussed and benefited from. The event this year is scheduled from 29th November to 1st December, 2018 at the Bengaluru Palace Grounds. I strongly believe that innovation and entrepreneurship will draw the contours of successful economies in times to come.
--I congratulate Indian Technology Congress Association for having organized this event which is suitable and appropriate to practitioners and others to improve productivity within their own organization.
